Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Assist with Exams: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist providers during patient visits.
- Vitals & Admin: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and administer basic non-invasive tests (EKG, phlebotomy).
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and wellness tips to patients.
- Front Office Support: Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Reliability: Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
