Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by escorting them to the exam room, recording vital signs, and reviewing medical history.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth clinical workflow.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed, and prepare blood samples for analysis.
- Manage patient intake processes, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and handling insurance verification.
- Provide patient education on preventative care, medications, and lifestyle changes to promote better health outcomes.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and communicate effectively with patients and referring providers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and HIPAA-compliant clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office setting.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to medical protocols and safety standards.
