Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians during exams, and record patient medical histories.
- Vitals & Intake: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and update patient information.
- Admin Support: Manage front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance verification.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood samples (phlebotomy), and prepare specimens for analysis.
- EKG & Procedures: Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and assist with minor medical procedures as directed.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and families.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification required.
- Licensure: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings.
