Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and medical history assessments.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers with rooming and basic procedures.
- Manage patient intake, including updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and handle prescription refills as directed by providers.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and processing insurance verifications.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation to work in the Austin area.
