Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight, height) and record data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for their appointment with the provider.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including phlebotomy (blood draws) and administering injections as directed.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment and inventory of supplies.
- Manage front desk reception duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient check-ins.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with the nursing and clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or medical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and computer systems is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
