Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and record patient data accurately.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain cleanliness standards.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by providers.
- Manage patient intake, including scheduling appointments and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding test results and follow-up care instructions.
- Handle front desk duties such as answering phones and processing insurance verification.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Associate degree in Medical Assisting required (CMA or RMA preferred).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
