Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and treatments to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Vital Signs & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and maintain comprehensive patient records.
- Rooming & Prep: Prepare exam rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies; educate patients on medications and pre-procedure instructions.
- Lab & Testing: Perform basic lab duties, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as directed.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding scheduling, insurance questions, and follow-up care instructions.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk duties, including check-in/check-out processes, insurance verification, and accurate data entry.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills with a warm, patient-centered demeanor.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
