Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examination and treatment by obtaining vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining procedures.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurses during exams and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Lab Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications and injections as directed, and prepare blood samples for analysis.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring strict HIPAA compliance.
- Communication: Instruct patients on medications, diet, and home care instructions; answer questions regarding clinic services.
- Inventory: Order and restock medical supplies and examination room equipment to ensure readiness.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent).
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.) and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a positive attitude.
- Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
