Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and record vital signs accurately.
- Assist Providers: Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer Care: Perform blood draws (phlebotomy), administer injections, and manage wound care as directed.
- Manage Documentation: Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all patient charts are complete and compliant.
- Lab Work: Collect and process lab specimens according to strict laboratory standards.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medication and post-procedure care to patients and families.
- Facility Maintenance: Sterilize medical equipment and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for all staff and visitors.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and holds current CMA, RMA, or MA certification.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical exams.
