Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and vaccinations under provider supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab tests
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health documentation
- Sterilize equipment and prepare exam rooms
- Provide patient education on treatment plans
- Coordinate with insurance billing and coding specialists
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- North Carolina state license to practice as Medical Assistant
