Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and accurately complete intake forms and medical histories.
- Vital Signs & Assessment: Measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and report abnormalities to providers.
- Assisting Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians and nurses during patient visits.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient scheduling, send reminders, and handle billing and insurance verification tasks.
- Lab Procedures: Collect and process blood samples, urine samples, and other diagnostic specimens following strict safety protocols.
- Medication Management: Assist in administering medications as directed by the provider and ensure proper documentation.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician office or clinic setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
