Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient intake, accurate vital sign measurement, and medical history collection.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by licensed providers.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals to specialists.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff to ensure seamless care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current New York State Medical Assistant License or equivalent (if applicable).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
