Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer medications and perform basic lab tests under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and compliant
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment schedules efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Assist with billing coding and insurance verification processes
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Texas state certification or eligibility required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid Texas driver's license for potential travel between facilities
