Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight measurements.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, minor procedures, and injections.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies.
- Manage patient intake, registration, and accurate insurance verification.
- Administer medications and vaccines according to strict physician orders and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up care and appointment scheduling.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Current Pennsylvania State Medical Assistant license (or eligible to obtain).
