Job Overview:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vitals, updating medical histories, and recording information in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist providers during physical exams and minor procedures, including drawing blood and administering injections.
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk reception duties, including scheduling appointments and answering phones.
- Maintain examination rooms by cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Process insurance authorizations and verify patient insurance information accurately.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
- Reliable transportation and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
