Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance, and update medical histories accurately.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians during examinations, prepare treatment rooms, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Charting: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and document patient interactions promptly.
- Administrative Duties: Manage appointment scheduling, handle phone inquiries, and process billing documentation.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines and hospital sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician’s office or urgent care setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using EMR/EHR software systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
