Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs, patient intake, and medical examinations to assist physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring accurate dosage and patient safety.
- Assist with minor office procedures and diagnostic tests such as EKGs and phlebotomy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and explaining procedures clearly.
- Coordinate patient schedules, handle insurance verification, and manage front desk administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required; graduates with graduation dates within the last 6 months may be considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
