Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive Medical Assistant who excels in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and delivering high-quality clinical support to our providers.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and record accurate medical histories.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean clinical environment.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy (blood draws) and urinalysis.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting copayments.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding instructions, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
