Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and report abnormal findings to providers.
- Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean clinical environment.
- Handle patient intake, insurance verification, and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Greet patients warmly, answer phones, and manage the front desk operations when required.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
