Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and providers with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and documenting patient histories accurately.
- Procedures: Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and minor wound care in accordance with strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-ins, answer phones, schedule appointments, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Laboratory Duties: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring proper handling and labeling for testing.
- Health Education: Educate patients on medication management, disease prevention, and post-care instructions to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment and strictly adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification and ACLS preferred but not mandatory for immediate hire.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Technology: Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
