Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist physicians during procedures
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and sterilize equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
