Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and escort them to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming first impression.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording patient information accurately.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and following protocol.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians, strictly adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform basic lab tests such as blood draws, urine analysis, and EKGs, ensuring all samples are labeled correctly.
- Coordinate patient care by scheduling appointments, handling referrals, and managing correspondence.
- Manage records by filing medical charts, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in medical assisting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff of all backgrounds.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid driverβs license and access to reliable transportation.
