Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intakes, record vital signs, and update medical histories accurately.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Lab Work: Perform basic lab tests, draw blood samples, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk reception duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling phone inquiries.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure exam rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification (ACLS preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience is a plus, but we are happy to train motivated entry-level candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and travel within the facility.
- Technical: Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new EHR software quickly.
