Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and ensure sterile environments
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality
- Coordinate patient education materials and appointment scheduling
- Inventory management of medical supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA/RMA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen experience a plus)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Texas state certification or eligibility to obtain immediately
