Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and verify their personal and insurance information upon check-in.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under the strict supervision of licensed staff.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals to specialists.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; a Medical Assistant Certification is a plus but not mandatory for this entry-level position.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is highly desirable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new medical protocols and technologies.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from the hospital facility.
