What You Will Do
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care and clinic operations. You will work closely with licensed providers to ensure our patients receive the best possible service.
Responsibilities
- Greet and Check-in Patients: Welcome patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update patient records accurately.
- Assist with Exams: Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist providers during patient examinations.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and height/weight.
- Admin Support: Schedule appointments, handle phone calls, and manage basic correspondence.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare blood samples or other lab specimens for testing.
- Patient Education: Provide basic health education and instructions to patients regarding medications or follow-up care.
- HIPAA Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CMA or Phlebotomy certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We value attitude and aptitude over experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal Skills: Compassionate, patient-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
