Job Summary:
We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in a supportive clinical environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our patient care team, ensuring smooth operations and positive patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations by escorting them to treatment rooms, measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse), and updating medical records accurately.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations, administering medications or injections as directed, and drawing blood samples for lab analysis.
- Lab Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and specimen collection, while strictly adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle front-desk duties including scheduling patient appointments, managing incoming calls, verifying insurance eligibility, and processing billing information.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on post-procedure care, medication instructions, and preventative health tips to promote better health outcomes.
- Inventory Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, restocking supplies, and managing medical inventory as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification is a plus, though we provide on-the-job training for qualified candidates.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all ages.
- Reliability: Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Regulations: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
