Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients and visitors, verify patient information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain patient charts, schedule appointments, and process insurance referrals.
- Labs: Collect and prepare blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis (training provided).
- Hygiene: Assist with patient hygiene and changing linens as needed.
- Communication: Answer phone calls professionally and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: No prior healthcare experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
