Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating records.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures and patient visits.
- Perform clinical duties including phlebotomy, EKGs, and medication administration.
- Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling patient inquiries.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Administer vaccines and perform point-of-care testing as required.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule.
