Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical history.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses during exams, perform basic procedures such as EKGs and venipuncture, and prepare treatment rooms.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records in the EMR system, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls professionally.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens according to strict protocols and quality standards.
- Education: Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle changes as directed by the provider.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and strong computer skills.
