Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests accurately.
- Greet patients and manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Update and maintain patient medical records in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a clean environment.
- Handle insurance verification and billing inquiries professionally.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
