Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and prepare them for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment for all patients and staff.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage referral communications.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or registration (CMAA) is strongly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict HIPAA guidelines.
