Responsibilities

  • Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Clinical Support: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Lab & Diagnostic Support: Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as directed by the provider.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
  • Medication Management: Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure proper documentation of prescriptions and treatments.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, answering questions to ensure they understand their care plan.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical medical setting preferred; new graduates are considered.
