Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer medications, injections, and perform EKGs under physician supervision
- Manage patient records using electronic health systems with HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments and handle insurance verification processes
- Maintain clean, organized examination rooms and sterilize equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate lab specimen collection and basic laboratory procedures
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic/EMR preferred)
- BLS certification with ability to maintain throughout employment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
