Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during medical procedures
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and medication administration
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Schedule appointments, handle patient communications, and maintain organized medical files
- Assist in maintaining sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant certificate or associate degree (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and clinical protocols
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to empathize with diverse patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- North Carolina Medical Assistant certification (if applicable)
