Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with examination room setup and taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight).
- Assist physicians during examinations by performing basic procedures and explaining treatment plans.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and blood draws, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage patient records, updating medical histories and maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate patient schedules, answer phones, and manage front desk duties when necessary.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a patient-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
