Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Epic systems
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient flow between exam rooms and diagnostic areas
- Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems with Epic certification preferred
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and cultural competency
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Valid Texas state driver's license with clean record
