Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle administrative duties
- Administer medications under physician supervision and monitor patient responses
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related field required
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
