Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and performing basic screenings.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws (phlebotomy) and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Coordinate patient schedules, handle front-desk reception duties, and manage incoming calls.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or hospital setting.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
