Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to exam rooms, reviewing their medical history, and preparing them for the provider.
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab procedures including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
- Assist providers during examinations by documenting patient information, preparing instruments, and providing necessary supplies.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and provide education on medication and treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician’s office or clinic setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desired.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
