Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Verify patient information, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examination by the physician or nurse practitioner.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing inquiries accurately.
- Assist with Procedures: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during minor procedures or blood draws.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood work and urinalysis, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, diet, and follow-up care to patients and their families.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock medical supplies and office inventory to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is required.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer software applications.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
