Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, including reviewing medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight, ensuring all data is logged correctly.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, maintaining strict sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by licensed physicians, strictly adhering to safety guidelines.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals, and laboratory tests to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing (POCT) with a focus on patient comfort and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area to ensure a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or RMA-NYC) or equivalent diploma from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote-capable environment.
