Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine patient examinations, including accurate measurement of vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration).
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient intake and ensure medical records are updated accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, including injections and vaccinations.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient experiences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in examination rooms and common areas.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
