As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Vitals & Intake: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight; complete patient intake forms efficiently.
- Laboratory Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws (phlebotomy), EKGs, and urinalysis according to strict protocols.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
- Medication & Supplies: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers and manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, answering questions and providing health education.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), NCMA, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG procedures is highly preferred.
- Technology: Strong computer literacy with experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
