Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and diagnostic tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect laboratory specimens
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and maintain inventory
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification and phlebotomy skills
- Strong communication abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Maryland state license (if applicable)
