Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and examinations
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and equipment is functional
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass background check and drug screening
