Job Overview
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical departments. You will interact directly with patients, assisting providers with examinations and procedures while maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist providers during physical exams and minor procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize medical equipment for patient use.
- Administer medications as directed by providers and document patient responses.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and triage patient inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, or equivalent (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in computer systems and EMR software.
