Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring equipment is sterilized and stocked
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Administer medications and injections per physician protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with specialists
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to multitask in high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Washington DC healthcare license in good standing
