Role Overview
As a Medical Assistant at BrightLife, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality clinical care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and verify demographic and insurance information.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Record vital signs, perform EKGs, and prepare medical records for review.
- Maintain examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean environment.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, point-of-care testing, and administer injections as directed.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for top candidates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible hours.
