Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, minor procedures, and vital sign monitoring.
- Lab & Testing: Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy procedures as required.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and prepare patient charts for visits.
- Vaccinations: Administer immunizations and injections according to strict safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment, sterilize equipment, and adhere to OSHA guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and assist in ordering medical supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA or RMA certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications (if applicable).
- Skills: Proficient in EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliant).
- Work Ethic: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
- Background: Clean criminal background check and drug screening required.
